Oops I’m a little behind on comments here. As I was on my own there was no one to hold me back. Sometimes it’s good sometimes it’s bad. But definitely gave me the chance to come up with plan b. And then I walked for hours. I was tired at the end if that day.

I took a flight to Brussels for the day with friends a few years ago, but we did not see nearly so much – though we did explore the food and drink options quite thoroughly ! I love the way you re-grouped when Plan A bombed and then produced a really insightful perspective on this city.

I only knew from another blogger having told me before I went. I still liked it though, good people, good food. Belgian is the comic capital of Europe hence the art. Hope you get back to check out some of this.

Especially since, as you mention, it is easy to be underwhelmed by Brussels—unless you have a hefty Belgian ale day. I have no idea how I missed all of this street art, but it is really quite clever (street art meets pop art.) I didn’t have street food, but would have if I were imbibing more. We opted for sit-down meals the two times I visited Brussels. Thank you for this helpful guide!
