Okay, this looks absolutely gorgeous and I love seals. But could you further expound on "hug the cliff face a lot of the way with exposed cliff edges"?!? is that to say you're likely to fall off a cliff? Cuz other than that, I'm all for it.

Is it a bad idea to come to Ireland in wintertime to hike, like would any of these be doable? I was reading that compared to neighboring countries, it actually doesn't get THAT snowy and doing outdoorsy stuff is still possible? If it's super windy and cold though that's no fun

Truly impressive and helpful site, John! Your photos are fantastic!

I am traveling to Meteora in September with my grown sons and plan to stay 2 1/2 days. I think it would be more realistic for us to strive to see just four monasteries, those being great Meteora, Varlaam, Saint Nick, and the holy Trinity. Just wondering if you know the best way to see two a day for the two days that we will be there? in other words, which two would pair nicely together?

We will be there on a Thursday arriving in the afternoon through Sunday departing to Athens. So the only day to worry about is Friday when Varlaam is closed.

Thank you in advance for any help or insight you can provide.

I'll definitely aim to visit Glen Beach and do the cliff walk when in Dublin next time, John. Always loved seals. How very cool that there are light houses along the way, too. 109 steps, though...

In reply to <a href="https://carpediemeire.com/2020/01/12/visiting-meteora/#comment-4270">James</a>.

You’re welcome. Hope it’s of help. My preferred lens for architecture is a super wide, here I was using an 11-17mm tokina with a Nikon d5300. I’ve since switched to a Nikon 10-24mm, it’s even better. Super wides give you a unique perspective when shooting architecture and of course are good for landscapes too.
